Hello! My name is Alekxa Olvera and I am currently a senior at Schuyler Central High School. I was very involved throughout my high school career. I participated in cross country, wrestling, track and field, basketball, FCCLA, culture club and I was captain of the dance team. Outside of school, since I was three years old, I have danced at Studio A, and worked at numerous places in the community such as the Schuyler Pool and the Midland Vet Clinic. This year I decided to focus on school and working as a CNA. After high school I plan to attend Northeast Community College to pursue a career in nursing. Beyond my love for culture and community, I am dedicated to making a positive impact in the world around me. I grew up in a Mexican household with both of my parents being born and raised in Mexico. My mom was born in the state of Campeche and my dad was born in the state of Hidalgo. From a young age, I can't recall a single weekend when my family and I weren't gathered together, embracing our traditions and celebrating life. It's these cherished moments that have instilled in me a deep appreciation for our culture and a passion for bringing people together.
