Madalyn Mendez proudly serves as Miss Latina Schuyler 2026, representing her community with grace, authenticity, and deep cultural pride. As the daughter of two Guatemalan parents, Madalyn’s journey of embracing her heritage has been both meaningful and transformative. What once felt like expectations she struggled to fully understand has grown into a profound appreciation for the strength, resilience, and beauty woven into her culture. To Madalyn, being Guatemalan is about far more than traditions, food, or vibrant colors. It is about perseverance, family, and the courage to continue rising through every challenge.
A natural leader with a heart for service, Madalyn sees the Miss Latina Schuyler title as an opportunity to inspire others, amplify overlooked voices, and create spaces where people from all backgrounds feel seen, valued, and heard. She believes every person carries a story worth sharing and is passionate about building connections through compassion, understanding, and community involvement.
As the first woman in her family to pursue higher education, Madalyn carries her accomplishments with immense pride and gratitude. She is a hardworking, optimistic, and driven young Latina who remains dedicated to her education, her family, and her community. Whether taking on new challenges, serving others, or representing her culture, she approaches each opportunity with professionalism, joy, and purpose.

Yamilet Ortiz Alvarez
2025 Miss Latina Schuyler
Yamilet, proudly half Puerto Rican and half Guatemalan, was crowned the 2025 Miss Latina Schuyler. As a senior in high school, she stayed actively involved in her school and community, participating in Cheerleading, Color Guard, Band, Choir, National Honor Society where she served as Secretary, and Student Council.
Her passion for staying connected to her community is what inspired her to run for Miss Latina Schuyler. Even beyond graduation, Yamilet wanted to continue being involved and making a difference in the place she calls home.
Winning the title allowed her to proudly represent not only Schuyler, but also the Latino community as a whole. Throughout her time as Miss Latina Schuyler, she has been committed to giving back and supporting her community in any way she can.
Yamilet has always loved growing up in Schuyler and is grateful for the opportunity to represent a community that means so much to her.

Yeilla Lopez was crowned the 2024 Miss Latina Schuyler and is honored to represent the growing and vibrant community of Schuyler. She is deeply grateful for the support of her parents, family, friends, everyone who voted for her, and the Schuyler Area Chamber of Commerce for giving her this opportunity.
As Miss Latina Schuyler, Yeilla has been committed to making a positive impact in her community. She has a strong passion for giving back through community clean ups, organizing fundraisers, volunteering, and lending a helping hand wherever it is needed.
Yeilla takes great pride in representing her town and showing her love for the people who make Schuyler so special. She is dedicated to using her title to uplift others and contribute to the continued growth and unity of the community.
She is truly honored to have served as Miss Latina Schuyler and remains thankful for the opportunity to represent a community she cares so deeply about.
